Most people will probably think of the black and white stripes when describing a Juventus shirt. The stripes have also become a strong part of the Juventus brand. In the first approx. 6 years of the club’s life (until 1903), the club played in pink shirts though.

When these had to be replaced, the English player, John Savage, was asked to get some new shirts in England. He allegedly obtained them through a friend who was a Notts County fan and therefore the then Juventus shirt ended up being black and white striped. Since then, this basic characteristic has been maintained for the well-known Juventus shirt.
